Lane Kiffin’s major recruiting win delivered a big blow to a struggling Deion Sanders.
Colorado sophomore offensive tackle Jordan Seaton announced Friday he’s transferring to Baton Rouge to play for the Tigers’ new coach.
Seaton is ranked fourth among transfer portal players and the top tackle, per On3.
“To Coach Kiffin, LSU and the State of Louisiana Thank You For an Opportunity to chase Greatness – The Franchise,” Seaton captioned a video of his decision.
Adding Seaton is a major win for Kiffin in his attempt to build a contender in his first year after his polarizing exit from Ole Miss.
He previously landed the portal’s No. 1 player, Arizona State quarterback Sam Leavitt, and fourth-ranked edge Princewill Umanmielen from his former team.
LSU has the top-ranked transfer portal class, per 247 Sports, and ESPN further noted that Kiffin has added 41 players to the program this offseason.
Seaton, who stands at 6-foot-5 and 330 pounds, earned All-Big 12 second-team honors this past season after playing nine games before an injury ended his campaign.
He did not allow a sack in pass protection in those nine games, per ESPN.
He started the most games (13) as a true freshman in Colorado history in 2024, according to the school, after arriving as a five-star elite prospect.
Losing Seaton is a tough blow for Sanders and the Buffaloes after a 3-9 season that raised questions about the future of the program.
The Buffaloes enjoyed a strong 9-4 campaign in 2024 with Heisman winner Travis Hunter and quarterback Shedeur Sanders, but struggled this past season after the pair left for the NFL.
Sanders is just 16-21 in his three seasons with the Buffaloes, with the hype exceeding the actual production on the field, and it could be tough sledding ahead.
The Buffaloes’ transfer class ranks just 22nd, and they now have a massive hole on their offensive line.
