Jalen Hurts wouldn’t say whether he’s planning to join the Eagles when the reigning Super Bowl champs visit the White House on Monday.

While speaking with “TIME” on the red carpet Thursday at the TIME100 Gala in New York, the Eagles quarterback seemed stuck when asked about President Trump’s invitation.

“Um,” Hurts, 26, said before a long pause.

He looked away, licked his lips and didn’t say anything else.

The reporter moved things along and said, “Got it, thank you so much.”

The Eagles received a public invitation from Trump to visit the White House after their 40-22 rout of the Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans on Feb. 9.

Trump, who attended the game at Caesars Superdome, made history as the first president to attend the Super Bowl while holding office.

The Eagles did not accept their invitation to the White House during Trump’s first presidential term after they won the Super Bowl in 2018.

Trump then rescinded the team’s invitation a day before their visit due to a national anthem dispute — as he said at the time that some members of the Super Bowl-winning roster “disagree with their president because he insists that they proudly stand for the national anthem, hand on heart.”

At the time, reports said many players refused the invitation.

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt announced last month that the Eagles “enthusiastically accepted, and you will see them here on April 28.”

Hurts is generally tight-lipped to avoid causing controversy, so his non-answer may not definitively mean he is skipping the event.

It was a big week for Hurts off the field.

The Jordan brand athlete revealed that he married his fiancée, Bry Burrows, in a cover interview with “Men’s Health,” which was published on Tuesday.
