Tom Brady turned in a microphone for a headset.
The Raiders minority owner and Fox announcer watched Las Vegas’ 20-9 home loss to the rival Chargers on “Monday Night Football” from the team’s coaching box while wearing a headset.
The future Hall of Famer called the Eagles’ 20-17 road win over the Chiefs in a Super Bowl rematch the previous day for Fox.
The ESPN broadcast captured Brady looking dapper in a suit and tie amid the hoodies being worn around him while sitting in the back row of the coaches’ box with seemingly a laptop in front of him.
While Brady appeared on screen, ESPN’s Peter Schrager provided details about the ex-quarterback’s involvement with the team.
“I was wondering how much Brady really had an involvement with this team,” Schrager said during the AFC West clash. “We hear so much about Brady as the owner.
“(Raiders offensive coordinator) Chip Kelly told us that he talks to Brady two to three times a week. They go through film, they go through the game plan, and Brady is a luxury for the coaches. Who else as an owner has actually been there and done that.”
New Raiders coach Pete Carroll was asked after the game about the report, with the phrasing that Brady “meets” with Kelly roughly three times per week, and he said that’s not true.
“That’s not accurate,” Carroll said. “We have conversations. I talk to Tom. Chip talks to Tom regularly. We have a tremendous asset. We all get along, we respect each other so we just talk about life and football and whatever comes. He has great insight. We’re lucky to have him as an owner.”
Week 2 represented just one of three instances this season when the Raiders are not playing Sunday and conflict with his Fox broadcasting duties.
Brady spent Sunday in Missouri to watch the Chiefs fall to 0-2 before heading west to watch the Raiders attempt to improve to 2-0.

The 48-year-old officially became a Raiders minority owner — holding a five-percent stake of a group’s 10-percent stock — last October after NFL approval.
The NFL did not allow him to attend mid-week broadcast meetings last year during his first season as a broadcaster, in which announcers participate to gather information for the broadcasts.
The league lifted its ban this offseason, although he still can’t attend practices.
ESPN announcer Dan Orlovsky noted during the game that having Brady is a massive edge for a Raiders franchise that has struggled.
“Think about the advantage, Chip Kelly saying two to three times a week, I can call Tom Brady, ‘Hey, what do I do in double A-gap pressure versus this defensive coordinator?” Orlovsky said.
“Patrick Graham, the defensive coordinator of the Raiders, talked about in the first preseason game, they struggled to tackle. Brady sent him a text: ‘Figure it out fast.’ So, it seems he’s very involved.”
Brady and play-by-play man Kevin Burkhardt will be in Chicago for Week 3 when the Bears host the Cowboys at 4:25 p.m. ET.
