WWE superstar Chelsea Green claims she was kicked out of a Manhattan hotel because the staffers believed she was an escort based on her clothing — less than a week away from the promotion’s biggest night, Wrestlemania.
Green, 33, who was in NYC for WWE’s “Monday Night Raw” at the Barclays Center, says she and a friend planned on getting drinks at The Plaza Hotel’s Champagne Bar Tuesday night before seeing a Broadway show.
However, her plans changed because of angry hotel staff.
“Man… one night you’re wrestling at Barclays Center, having the time of your life and the next you’re being kicked out of @FairmontHotels and accused of being an escort because of your outfit,” Green posted to X on Wednesday.
She claimed the incident happened around 5:45 p.m. when the two friends attempted to start their night in the bar but were told to leave because they weren’t staying at the Midtown hotel, according to TMZ.
An unknown guest allegedly offered Green to get drinks with them, allowing them to pass through security, which only further angered the staff.
“Get back here. We aren’t playing your games. We know what you’re doing here,” Green recalled to the outlet one of the staffers yelling.
Green believed workers at the luxury Fifth Avenue lodge assumed her clothes — a white top, denim mini skirt, boots and a coat — meant she was there for more than a drink.
The two-time Women’s Tag Team Champion says she was “pissed” and “embarrassed” about the crude insinuation and she had to leave the area, only to return a short time later.
The Canadian native headed back to the lobby to speak with management but was met with three security guards who reportedly chased her out again.
Green was determined to talk with a manager, which she successfully did the third time, only for the three security guards to stand next to them, laughing.
Green gave a heads-up to the hotel that she most likely won’t be a patron there next year.
“Life is funny! Maybe next year I won’t celebrate Wrestlemania weekend at The Plaza Hotel LOL…,” her post on X concluded.
The Post has reached out to The Plaza Hotel.
Green was back out in public the next night celebrating her birthday, which lands on April 4.
On Wednesday, she was pictured with her husband, wrestling star Matt Cardona at Sylvester Stallone’s The Victor Café in Philadelphia
“Celebrating @ImChelseaGreen’s birthday at @TheVictorCafe! Do you approve @TheSlyStallone?” Cardona wrote on X.
For her birthday celebration, Green opted for a Manchester United long-sleeve shirt and gray skirt.
Green’s supportive spouse, who is from Long Island, poked fun at his wife’s earlier predicament.
“She kinda looks like an escort there.”
The two wrestlers began dating in 2017, became engaged in 2019 and officially tied the knot on New Year’s Eve 2021 in Las Vegas.
